BEADS OF SWEAT
Sweating transforms one of the body’s most ordinary physical responses into adornment.
The collection focuses on small moments of perspiration on the face — beads of sweat gathering across the nose and a single drop falling from the chin. Recreated in crystal, something usually temporary and overlooked becomes precious and deliberately visible.
By turning sweat into jewellery, Sweating shifts attention towards a bodily detail that is rarely considered decorative, finding beauty in something fleeting, physical and entirely ordinary.
A DROP
The idea for Sweating emerged after Shinzato watched a high school basketball game in Okinawa. Having played basketball herself, she found herself drawn to the sight of the players sweating as they moved across the court, and was struck by how beautiful it appeared.
The observation led to a simple idea: what if sweat could become jewellery?
